Here’s the first release of the new version incorporating the original linear and new rotary version, for Mac and PC. Go to the download page.
Hi Dave – actually it should link to the new version but I’ve maybe been a bit unclear on what the new version is. It’s both the linear and rotary clocks combined into one. All working okay for me, but please let me know if you’re still having problems.
Hi, I love this clock on my mac. I was wondering if you had any thoughts to develop this for the app store for the iPhone?
Thanks,
Luke
Hi Luke – answer is yes, I am working on a version at the moment which is about 95% done. It’s taking a while because the iPhone doesn’t have the same sophisticated typesetting engine as Mac OS X (or even a colour picker) so I have to write my own at the same time as learning the SDK. I don’t know when it will be ready but will announce it on here once it’s done.
That’s not PC, that’s windows. I hate it when people refer to it that way.
Hi Niels – I completely agree, I thought I’d managed to replace all occurrences of ‘PC’ with ‘Windows’. Must try harder.
Is it possible to get 24 hour English in the rotary version? I took a look inside the bundle, and there seems to be an XML file, but I can’t find it in the list when ‘rotary’ is selected.

At some point I need to go through all the files and clean them all up; the rotary version needs a bespoke version which I’ll make when I can find the time…

I had the jailbroken version of WordClock on my iTouch, and it was great – but your new rotary version is even cooler!
Thanks for porting this, Simon :) Can’t wait to see it in the app store!
I have a jailbroken iphone, but with Cydia and not Installer. Are you planning on a repository for Cydia?
Hi Charlie
I have a developer license, so hoping to release it ‘officially’ on the App Store. Programming time is a bit limited at the moment, so it will be a couple of months yet.
the windows installer requires admin rights. could you provide an alternative way to install it?
Hi,
Gotta say great screensaver, I seem to have issues with some fonts not displaying on my typography selector. Fonts like DIN and Gotham don’t seem to appear in the selector.
Also it’d be great if you could find a way to integrate the mac’s native color selection panels into the color selector for the typography panel.
All in all great work so far! Keep it up

Hi,
It’s really fantastic screen saver. As It is done in many languages. I was wanting it in my native language(Gujarati) as well. How can I compile after adding xml file?
I love this screensaver! Would you consider making an updated version, in which the words fade to and from being highlighted in the linear version?
like, instead of the highlight jumping from one to the next, have the text fade into the highlight and the previous word fade from. just for a softer look.

Simon, it looks like the link to the Mac version still points to the previous, pre-linear one. Can you take a look?
