As promised ages ago, I have posted the source code I am using to wrap the Mac Flash screensaver version of Word Clock. It’s extremely basic right now and you’ll need XCode, Flash and programming knowledge to use it. Please contribute by fixing bugs and generally making it better…
Update: moved onto github
thanks, i never really understood that way of sharing open source code.
i need to become a member of a project in order to actually be able to download a zip , right?
thanks for sharing nonetheless, might use this with my colour me bad project
Now moved onto github which is a lot easier to maintain (and looks nicer).
Any chance of a bit of really basic how you use (outline the steps) documentation. Dont need a major book about it but just point us in the right direction.
Thanks for the great reasource…
Nice one – even just outline what has to happen for us noobs ith some background would rock – thanks again for releasing this. :)
Many thanks :)
Hi Simon, thanks for sharing your screensaver maker project. I just used it for an app I made that, coincidentally, is also a clock. http://itsaclock.flamjam.com/
I’ve put the beta version of the clock up at http://bit.ly/itsass if you’d like to take a look.
Are you familiar with a technique that would allow the screensaver to work on OS X versions older than Snow Leopard?
I thought you’d saved me the cost of upgrading Screentime (again) but methinks I may need it for the legacy Mac peeps.
Thanks again, and keep up the great work,
Hoss.
Hi Hoss – I’ll take a look later but the code should work on any MacOS that supports WebKit. You might need to change the build settings to create a build compatible with older OS. Have a go and let me know how you get on.
Hello, I was looking for an affordable solution for update the screensavers that I created with Flash and SWF2Saver 2 Pro and unfortunately are not compatible with Mac OS 10.6. I found your “Macflashscreensavermaker” and it works perfectly fine for the first, but not for those who follow (they all have the same animation as the first). Is there an easy solution that I can set implemented, I am a graphic designer, Francophone, and only know a few bits of programing.
Hi Christian – Not sure what your problem is, the code works fine for me. Sorry I can’t provide better support.
Hey Simon that’s really cool :) I’ll take a look at it…
Thanks a lot for sharing!
